Fluoride occurs naturally at low levels in our water supplies. In some areas of the UK, fluoride is added to the water supplies when the Health Authority instructs it. None of our supplies are currently artificially fluoridated and we have no plans to do so. The company supports the position taken by Water UK (the representative body of all UK Water Companies) that the primary duty of a water company is to provide a sufficient and wholesome supply of water. The decision whether to fluoridate a water supply is entirely a health issue and should therefore be made by public authority health professionals - as stated in the new Water Bill Act. |
