Charges are payable if premises are empty unless the Company is asked to turn off the supply. No retrospective allowances will be given. If the premises do not have a separate supply pipe it may not be possible for the Company to turn off the supply. Should a customer be refurbishing (internally) an empty unmeasured property the standard charges can be cancelled for a maximum period of three months, and replaced with a refurbishment fee. The current fee is shown in the 'Misc. Charges' section. After the three month period has expired a meter will be fitted (once occupied the property will remain on the measured tariff) or if this is not technically possible the account will revert back to the full unmeasured tariff. Refurbishment refers to basic internal redecoration, rather than structural alterations of any kind. If an unoccupied unmeasured property is being structurally altered, either internally or externally, then any water used will, where technically possible, be supplied and charged through a water meter. Once occupied the property will remain on the measured tariff. If a meter cannot be fitted the charges set out in the 'Charges' section will apply.
A Customer may wish to consider the installation of a meter if he wishes to maintain a supply to empty premises. |
