Folkestone & Dover Water Services are proud to support WaterAid as our charity.WaterAid was set up in 1981 by people working in the United Kingdom water industry. It is now a leading independent organisation which enables the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. It works in Africa, Asia and the Pacific region and campaigns globally to realise their vision of a world where everyone has access to these basic human rights.
WaterAid and its partners work with local communities and use a mixture of low cost technologies to deliver lasting solutions to their water and sanitation problems.

Support from Customers and Staff
Every year we sponsor the printing costs of a WaterAid leaflet enclosed with our domestic water bills. Since 2002 our customers have generously given over £24,908 to WaterAid in response to this appeal, enough to help 1,660 people gain access to safe, clean water. Please go to the WaterAid donations In addition over the past 10 years more than £22,500 has been raised by our staff through a variety of fund-raising activities which have included cricket tournaments, bring and buy sales, car washes, sponsored walks and bike rides, raffles, donations, a monthly payroll lottery and an annual ‘Give an Hour’ appeal.. Mobile phones and used toner cartridges are also collected and recycled to raise money for WaterAid. Highlights of 2007
